Tuxachanie Trail

The Tuxachanie Trail is in DeSoto National Forest. It's about 30 miles north of Gulfport. Hurricane Katrina knocked down many trees. The forest service just cleared the trails.

Parts of the trail were little more than grass verges.

Detours were many as the trail was dotted with downed trees and with foot bridges washed away.

Most of the creeks were dried up from the drought we've been experiencing. It was nice to see this one with water in it.

This bridge replaced one that had been washed out.
